Overseas Literacy Consultant

Responsible to: 
Director of assigned Region.
Qualifications: 
As specified in Personnel Policies. University and/or Bible College degree. Training as specified in Personnel Policies.
Job Summary: 
Develop literacy and/or English ministry in assigned country/region. Conduct literacy/English tutor-training courses in cooperation with churches in the area. Encourage indigenous literacy/English ministries in country/region. If literacy materials need to be developed, coordinate primer construction workshops in needed languages.

Investment Programs Director

Responsible to: 
Executive Director
Qualifications: 
A call of God to Christian work and witness, and God's leading to work with LEI. Commensurate educational background and work experience to fulfill job requirements. Basic knowledge and ability to apply that knowledge, of principles and techniques of business administration, and principles of salesmanship. Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with people, in both one-to-one and group situations. Ability to organize programs and people. Accept LEI Covenant Commitment and Statement of Faith.
Job Summary: 
Plan and implement coordinated investment programs for increasing financial and prayer resources.

Tulsa Volunteer

Responsible to: 
Various staff
Relates with:

Qualifications: 
Christians living in greater Tulsa area who wish to have an impact on the world through serving as a volunteer with Literacy & Evangelism International.
Job Summary: 
Volunteers needed for various tasks at LEI headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tasks include: Tutoring in basic literacy or in spoken English, Computer input, Mailing preparations, Library upkeep, Maintenance of buildings and grounds, Video/photography, Preparing/providing meals for Literacy Institute students, Dorm Host (dorm parent) for Literacy Institute students, Media organization, Administrative assistance in Tulsa Literacy Center, Prayer commitment.

National Missionary Advocate

Responsible to: 
LEI Director for Latin America
Qualifications: 
A passion for the nations and for helping national gospel workers doing full-time ministry with LEI in their own countries; Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with people, in both one-to-one and group situations; Ability to organize programs and people; College education preferred; Accept LEI Covenant Commitment and Statement of Faith.
Job Summary: 
LEI national missionaries in Latin America are instrumental in helping local churches start literacy ministries - they already speak the language, know the culture, and are readily accepted by their community. The National Missionary Advocate serves as a liaison whose role is to encourage these gospel workers, help them find financial/prayer partners, and help them become self-sufficient through micro enterprise. Reports to the Latin America Director.

Affiliate Missionary and Application

Responsible to: 
Regional Director
Qualifications: 
A member of a church or mission group other than LEI who has received LEI training, who uses LEI Bible-content materials to integrate literacy and/or ESL into their ministry as a means of evangelism and discipleship, and who desires a closer relationship with LEI.
Job Summary: 
Use LEI Bible-content materials in literacy or English Language Ministry (ELM). Send Annual Report on literacy or ELM work to the appropriate LEI Regional Director. Cooperate with LEI on field as able. Some possibilities of assisting LEI include: primer construction, field-testing of methods and materials, training of tutors and trainers, short-term mission projects on field, prayer support.

Social Media Coordinator

Responsible to: 
Media Director

Qualifications: 
The ideal candidate knows Jesus as personal Savior, is called by God to do Christian work and witness, has a passion to share Jesus through literacy evangelism, demonstrates exceptional social media and writing skills, and is creative, motivated, and enthusiastic in using social media to share the hope-filled message of Jesus and literacy. Accepts LEI’s Covenant Commitment and Statement of Faith, and demonstrates a willingness to grow spiritually through fellowship (with our home office and international community), daily prayer, and Bible study.
Job Summary: 
The Social Media Coordinator works with the LEI Media Director and Publications Editor to promote Literacy and Evangelism International (LEI) across Social Media Networks. The purpose of this position is to deepen relationships through staying connected with our ministry partners, to develop a community awareness of the desolation illiteracy generates, to share information about the hope that comes through knowing Jesus and in becoming literate, and to encourage conversations regarding literacy evangelism, events, available materials, and success stories.

Assistant to the Publications Editor

Responsible to: 
Media Director
Relates with: 
Publications Editor
Qualifications: 
This person should have: a call of God to full-time Christian work and God's leading to work with LEI; computer literacy, good administrative, interpersonal, English grammar, and communications skills. This person should be: attentive to detail; a team player with the ability to work on a variety of tasks at one time; willing to participate in daily devotions and a training workshop, and enthusiastic in telling stories about proclaiming the message of Christ through sharing the gift of literacy. We currently use InDesign for publication creation and Mail Chimp for our on-line delivery system. An understanding of these and/or a willingness to learn these is necessary.
Job Summary: 
Assist the principal writer and editor of LEI informational publications.
