N’CAM (Bassar) Primer Construction Project 2026 (PCW)
Project Title: N’Cam (Bassar) Primer Construction Project 2026.
Development of a Biblical Literacy Primer in N’Cam (Bassar) – LEI
Context and Justification: N’Cam (Bassar) is spoken by over 680,000 people in Togo and northern Ghana. Although the full Bible is available in this language, literacy rates remain low (1% to 60%), especially among women in rural areas. This limits access to Scripture, basic education, and essential health and development information.
Objective: To improve literacy in N’Cam and enable communities in both countries to read, understand, and engage with the Bible in their heart language.
Key Activities
- Develop an 82-lesson literacy primer in two volumes (Book 1 and Book 2).
- Conduct a 15-day collaborative workshop in Bassar with 3 participants from Ghana and 4 from Togo to create a standardized literacy manual for use in both countries.
